"Oh, no, no, no, I'm a rocket man, Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone" Braig sang out loud to the radio as he sat in his estate car outside the football pitch.
It was raining , raining hard. He waited for his oldest son ,Duncan of 16 years, to finish his football training. How much Braig desperately wanted to go home , work had gone badly , as usual, and now all he wanted to do was to pick up his son and go home for a family meal with his three kids and his wife , Selia. especially today , it was their 17 year anniversary and Braig assured himself that nothing could possibly ruin this day.
Braig fell silent as he watched Duncan walk over to the car , throwing his bag into the backseat then sits in the passenger seat next to his father. "how was training?" Braig asked as he turned the engine on and turned out the parking lot. All he got in response from his son was silence.
Braig sighed "come on Duncan... talking to me wont kill you" he said as they turned down main street on tenth. duncan shrugged and turned the radio off "stupid fogies music" he muttered under his breath.
While they continued driving towards their home in the city , a faint wind like sound was heard comming from the boot , Braig checked the rear view mirror and saw nothing and continued driving.
After a while a faint scratching was heard but Braig just ignored it and drove down onto a street that was practically empty as it was a sunday.
"Duncan , get my phone out my jacket pocket in the back and phone your mum , tell her were on our way back now" Braig stated to fill the silence.
Duncan did as he was told , and reached into the back , feeling around for the stray jacket , but felt something odd , almost something without any friction what so ever , he continued feeling around then suddenly felt a sharp agonizing pain in his hand "ngh.." Duncan retracted his arm , now missing part of two of his fingers , he sat bleeding badly.
Braig didn't notice at first then double took his injured son "what the hell?" he exclaimed , he continued driving but tended to his son at the same time "what the hell happened?" he shouted in confusion , but all Duncan could do to reply was a few tears running down his cheeks then the occasional look to the back seat.
Braig turned back to looking at the road after wrapping his sons hand up then asked for the phone again.
Duncan reluctantly undone his seat belt and climbed into the backseat to search for the phone , Braig didnt notice the struggle happening in the back of the car , well not until Duncan kicked the back of his seat.
"hey!" Braig shouted at his son and quickly glanced over his shoulder. "Duncan?!" he shouted and took his foot off the acceleration and undone his belt and turned to help Duncan , who was now unconscious and bleeding terribly in the backseat.
what Braig didnt know was that while he was trying to help Duncan , and fighting off this black thing with yellow eyes , that another black gremlin , was pushing the peddle making the car accelerate in speed , straight down the middle of town.
Braig made the black thing turn into dust then pulled Duncan to Sit up "Duncan wake up son!!" he shouted at him , but was suddenly stopped.
the car had hit a tree , and Braig went crashing through the window , getting covered in scars , He ended up in a heap on the grass about 20 feet away from the car . He lifted his torso off the floor "D..duncan.." he panted and pulled himself to his feet and went to step closer to the car when it suddenly burst into flames , Sending him flying back , crashing onto the ground with a ..
THUD!
Xigbar's head hit the desk and he suddenly sat up right . he rubbed his one good eye and placed his hand against the scar on his cheek "....im sorry son" he muttered as he closed his eyes and pictured his son's face in his mind.
"im so sorry..."
